Choose Swedish for long, flowing strokes and light-to-medium pressure over the whole body. Choose Deep Tissue for slow, firm pressure on a tight back and shoulders. At Pink One SPA in San Diego, both are $40 for 30 minutes or $60 for 60.
How Swedish feels
Swedish flows. Long, even strokes and light kneading travel over the back, legs, arms and shoulders.
The pressure stays light to medium from start to finish. More on our Swedish Massage page.
How Deep Tissue feels
Deep Tissue is slow and firm. After a warm-up, your therapist leans into the tight spots and works them gradually.
It should feel strong but never sharp. More on our Deep Tissue Massage page.

Which one fits you
Pick by the feeling you are after. To unwind, choose Swedish; to have a stiff back worked on, choose Deep Tissue.
First-timers usually start with Swedish, and guests who find it too soft move on to Deep Tissue.
Signs the pressure is too much
If you hold your breath or tense up, it is too strong. Good pressure feels firm while you breathe easily.
Say so right away, and your therapist adjusts.
Can you mix the two?
Yes. Ask for a Swedish session with extra time on one or two tight spots.
For a single stubborn knot, Trigger Point is the third option on our menu.
