Quick Answer

Book 30 minutes ($40) to work on one area, such as the neck and shoulders. Book 60 minutes ($60) to cover the whole body at an easy pace. At Pink One SPA in San Diego, all six services come in both lengths.

When 30 minutes is enough

Half an hour works when one spot is the trouble: the neck, the shoulders or the lower back.

At $40, it fits a lunch break or a stop on the way home from work.

When to book the full hour

Book 60 minutes when you want everything done: back, legs, arms, neck and shoulders.

At $60, it leaves time to warm up before any firmer work.

How each session is used

In 30 minutes, your therapist goes straight to the area you name. In 60, the whole body is warmed up first.

The hour also leaves room for an unhurried finish.

Making 30 minutes count

Choose one priority before you start; one area done well beats three rushed ones.

Arrive a few minutes early so the whole half hour is spent on the table.

For a first visit

The hour is usually the easier first choice, with time to settle in and try different pressure.
